Young
Adult Choir - Annual
Easter Concert 2011
Watch it Now! |

It is the
time of the year where Christians from all
over the world celebrate the death and the
resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
What would be the Gospel without the
resurrection of Jesus Christ?
On
Sunday April 4, 2010 at 7:00 PM, the
Redemption Young Adult Choir will
celebrate the resurrection of Christ, the
most important events of all time. We
commit to present as usual a variety of
composer and genres of music from Baroque
to present. Three pieces from the second
part of the Messiah will be performed.
The
second part is the most impressive portion
of this Oratorio. Now Behold the Lamb,
this majestic and solemn chorus where the
alto section sings the
first statement and
culminates with those sustained, hanging,
sublime notes by the soprano section while
the rest of the choir emphasizes the ‘sins
of the world’. In addition, the choir will
insert the importance of the cross with
Near the Cross and It wasn’t
the Nail” followed by “ Surely He
Hath Borne Our Griefs”. The latter is one of the
most pathetic and deeply expressive songs
ever written, in which the very key-note
of sorrow was struck.
The
last part of the program will conclude
with short skits and praise dance by our
own Redeemed Souls. We cannot conclude
without “ Pak Ayisyen” also known as Haitian Easter.
This twentieth century piece is composed
by the prominent Haitian composer Emile Desamours. He sure knows how to
incorporate word painting to depict the
resurrection with exuberance in a folk
likestyle called rara followed by
the awe-inspiring confession of faith in
the resurrection with “ I know that My
Redeemer Liveth” .
Please
join us on in commemorating the death and
the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus
Christ. Redemption Baptist Church is
