MINISTRY DESCRIPTION:
The MCM /Family Ministry exists to serve Redemption Baptist Church members by serving families through E.N.E:
- Education, which cultivates biblical principles for life in marriage.
- Nurture, which encourages, helps, and strengthens Christian families in their journey as married couples and parents.
- Enrichment, which enhances and promotes healthy relationships within the family.
This ministry seeks actively God’s miracle of grace and love in every home where newlyweds and married Couples find:
- A fellowship that affirms the sanctity and wholeness of their relationships.
- A fellowship that fosters a supportive Christian network around them and builds a climate that enriches and strengthens them as couples.
- A fellowship that informs and protects the family as a divinely ordained institution.
Married Couples Ministry at Redemption Baptist Church began with a need. A group of 6 married couples, all in different stages of their marital lives, understood the importance of healthy marriages in our church. Under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Gaston, these couples have joined in ministry with the focus of meeting the spiritual needs of married couples in a way that will uplift and encourage them to continue in the binding covenant they made to their spouse and to God. (Gen. 2: 23-24; Mark 10:6-7; Eph. 4:2-3; Heb.13:4)
We seek to restore the biblical family by preparing and equipping married couples with the fundamental truths of holy matrimony. With God’s grace and mercy, our vision is that these couples will live to celebrate their 25th, 50th, and even their 75th wedding anniversaries. (Joshua 24:15; Eph. 5:31-33; Prov. 5:18-19
The purpose of the Married Couples Ministry is to nurture and strengthen the Christian family as Married Couples and Parents through Education, Nurture and Enrichment.
We believe in the sanctity of God’s institution of marriage between one man and one woman (Mark 10:6-9) We believe that marriage is a binding covenant not to be taken lightly and to be held in the utmost priority.(Gen. 2:23-24) We also believe that God-centered marriages will produce God-centered families. Therefore, we strive to ensure that the torch of these spiritual values passes from one generation to the next. (Deut. 6:1-9; 2 Tim. 2:2)
To serve the need of our families and to create a culture of healthy and happy marriages based on biblical principles.
